Spring Lake Heights

Thomas J. Kitrick, 85, of Spring Lake Heights died Monday at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, NJ. Born in Jersey City, N.J. he resided in Toms River, NJ and Naples, Fla. before moving here this year.

He graduated St. Peter's College in 1957 after serving in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He embarked on a successful business career serving as Vice President of Goldman Sachs & Co. and upon his retirement from that investment banking firm founded TJK & Associates, a management consulting firm.

His love of learning led to his participation in many educational and charitable endeavors. He was a trustee for The Collegiate School, Member of the Board of Regents of St. Peter's College and was awarded The Distinguished Graduate Award from the St. Peter's College Alumni Association in 1978. Tom was on the finance committee at St. Catherine's Church in Holmdel, N.J., director at AFCAM Catholic Charities for the Diocese of Venice in Florida and supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project. Most recently he tutored Hispanic students at St. Mark's Church in Sea Girt, N.J.



His love of his family and his Catholic faith were the guideposts in life. He is predeceased by the love of his life, Marilyn, who predeceased him in 2012. They were married for 57 years and his devotion to her, especially during her later years, was a source of inspiration to many. He was the beloved father to his son Thomas J. Kitrick ,Jr. and his wife Lorelei of Charlotte, N.C. and son Mark G. Kitrick and his wife Annette of Wall, N.J. He was the cherished grandfather of Ryan, Tommy, Kristen, Blair and Michael. He is also survived by his devoted sister Beverly Kiely of Aberdeen, N.J. and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Visiting will be Thursday, July 3, 2014, 2-4 & 7-9 PM, at the O'Brien Funeral Home,2028 Highway 35, Wall, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at 9:30 AM at St. Mark Catholic Church, 215 Crescent Parkway, Sea Girt, N.J. Interment will follow in St. Anne Cemetery, Wall, N.J. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to in Tom's name to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, Fla. 32256.
