Joan McCullough Trump

Joan McCullough Trump, 85, of Bayville, formerly a longtime resident of Pompton Lakes, died peacefully Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at her beloved waterfront home. Born in Jersey City, Joan was the daughter of Vincent and Gertrude Bushwell. In 1949, she married Robert McCullough. The couple settled in Pompton Lakes where they raised five children. While living in Pompton Lakes, Joan was a very active parishioner of St. Mary's RC Church where she served as president of the Rosary Society. In 1987, Joan married Robert Trump, whom her children said was, "the love of her life." They lived briefly in Wayne before retiring to Bayville where they built their dream home on the water. Together, they loved sailing, traveling the world, and enjoying their family.
While living in Bayville, Joan volunteered with Providence House Domestic Violence Services and was named Woman of the Year by the charity. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Joan's passion for service was matched only by her love of family and unwavering support of the New York Yankees.
Joan is lovingly survived by her children, Kevin McCullough, Cathy Lonsdale and her husband Bob, Barbara Barford and her husband Mike, Maureen McCullough, and Rich McCullough and his wife Sharon; her step-children, Gary Trump and his wife Joan, and Ron Trump; her brother, Ronald Bushwell and his wife Rose; her sister, Constance Emery; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert McCullough, in 1981, and her second husband, Robert Trump, in 1994.
Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 7 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 8 at St. Mary's RC Church, Pompton Lakes. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to Providence House Domestic Violence Services at www.catholiccharitiestrenton.org would be greatly appreciated by Joan's family.
