Jackson "Jack" Balestier

AGE: 85 • Middletown

Jackson "Jack" Balestier, 85, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014, at home. He was born in Bronx, NY to the late Elliot F. and Mabel Balestier (nee Fleming). During his youth, he lived in Teaneck and Englewood, NJ, then several towns in New Jersey and Connecticut before moving to Middletown ten years ago. He received his BA degree in Accounting from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. He worked as International Sales Manager for Polymer Industries in Stamford, CT for several years and proudly served our country in the U.S. Army at the time of the Korean War. Jack was a member of Saint Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue in NYC and sang for several years with the choirs of St. Timothy's Church, Fairfield, CT and Christ Church, Shrewsbury.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathleen M. Balestier; his daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Bruce Mahaffey of MA; his son, Lee Balestier of NJ; his son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Amy Balestier of PA; his brother and sister, Robert Balestier and Lois Cuffe and five grandchildren, Cynthia, Suzanne, Jackson, Madeline and Colette.

Donations in Jack's name may be made to Saint Thomas Church Choir School, 202 West 58th St., NYC 10019.
