Carl J. Pauli, 83, of Toms River, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Fort Lee, he resided in Dumont, Sussex County, and Wood Ridge, prior to moving to Toms River in 2004. He worked as a Union Painter in Paterson for over 35 years. Carl enjoyed gardening, watching the Yankees and Mets games and loved animals. He was a Navy veteran and life member of the VFW Post 10061. He was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Alice and brother, Robert. Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Georgette; daughter, Doreen and husband Allen Continanza of Barnegat; son, Scott and wife Maria Pauli of Mahwah; grandchildren, Daniella, Nicolette, Christopher and Nicholas; sisters, Barbara and husband James Melvin of Florida and Alice and husband Jerry Bowman of Arizona and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014 at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Road, Toms River. A funeral service will be offered at 4 p.m. during visitation. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014 at the New Jersey Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown. Friends and family will gather at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jersey Shore Animal Center at 185 Brick Blvd., Brick, NJ 08723.
