Dorothy E. Pastula, better known as "Peggy", 87, of Keyport, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, at Manor by the Sea in Ocean Grove. Peggy was born on Jan. 13, 1927 in Essex, England, where she grew up. In 1946, she moved to the U.S. as an English war bride, relocating to Matawan. In 1948, she ultimately settled in Keyport to raise her family. Peggy was an avid NY Yankees fan and loved her trips to Atlantic City. She also adored working in her garden. She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved husband, Stanley Pastula. Peggy is survived by her loving children, Michael Pastula of Toms River and Maureen Kirschman and her husband Albert of Parlin; her dear sisters, Ethel, Gene and Margaret and their families; her cherished grandchildren, William James and his partner Kristina, Michael J. Pastula and his fiancé Amanda; her adored great-grandchildren, Abigal and Michael Pastula Jr., along with many special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family living in England. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. Family and friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 p.m. & 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13 at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Rt. 35 N, Hazlet. Prayer service at the funeral home at approx. 8 p.m. Peggy's family will be holding a repast in celebration of her life at Assaggini Di Roma Restaurant (located in the shopping center directly next to the funeral home) between the hours of 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. In respect of Peggy's wishes, she will be privately cremated.
