AGE: 78 • Manchester
Steven Pick, 78, of Manchester passed away Friday, August 15 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune with his wife and son by his side. Born and raised in The Bronx, he was, fittingly, a lifelong Yankees fan as well as a passionate supporter of the NY Giants. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1957, spending time stationed in Morocco as well as a number of other distant lands. Most of his professional years were spent working as a salesman in the garment industry while raising his family in Matawan, New Jersey. After retiring to Manchester, Steve remained active by contributing to his community as a security guard at the Ocean County Library.
Steve's ability to make people laugh, along with his warm and caring nature afforded him countless friends and the complete love and devotion of his family. His loyalty and overall strength of character meant those who were lucky enough to be loved by Steve, knew he would go to the ends of the earth for them.
He is predeceased by his parents; Rudolph and Sarah Pick and survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Linda; four sons, Robert and his wife Meaghan, of Florida, Bradley, of Barcelona Spain, David, of North Carolina, Matthew and his wife Melissa, of Keyport; his cherished grandchildren Samantha and Alexander.
A funeral service will be held at 10 am, Tuesday at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 3010 Ridgeway Rd., Manchester. Entombment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in Steven's honor to the Wounded Warrior Project at http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/.
