Charles Frederick Hoffman Sr. 89 of Leisure Knoll, Manchester died Sunday, August 17, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was employed for 30 years as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, Rahway before retiring in 1990. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a parishioner of St. John's Church, Lakehurst. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived there and in Colonia for 50 years before moving to Manchester in 2006. Surviving is his wife, Catherine "Kay" Sedia Hoffman, a son, Charles F. Hoffman Jr. of Pt. Pleasant, a brother, Harold of Manchester, a sister, Caroline Gambino of Toms River, and 3 grandchildren, Joseph, Charles, and Paula. Funeral Liturgy is Wednesday at 12 noon at St. John's Church, Lakehurst with interment to follow at the Brigadier Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
