Christina M. Valentine, 21, of Jackson Twp., passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at home. Christina was born in Secaucus and had resided in North Bergen before settling in Jackson Twp. 15 years ago.
She was a 2011 graduate of Jackson Liberty High School where she played field hockey and lacrosse. In addition, she played field hockey for East Stroudsburg University. Christina worked for American Eagle Outfitters at the Freehold Raceway Mall in Freehold Twp.
Christina is the daughter of William Valentine of Jackson Twp. and his companion, Elaina Accaria. Christina is also survived by her mother, Rosemarie Valentine of Long Branch; her brother, Ian Valentine of Brooklyn, NY and his companion, Alex Szymczak; her maternal grandmother, Margarita Schlehner of Puerto Rico; her aunts and uncles, Alice Angello, Joanne Schlehner, Margaret Olivi, Anna & Francisco Schlehner, Wilene Schlehner, Gina & Joe Schlehner, Carl and Peggy Schlehner, Ellen Jimmerson Valentine and Scott Valentine; and by her cousins, Matt and Allison Olivi, Carl and Temmy Kim Olivi, Cassie Olivi, Kassie Schlehner, Ismael Rivera, Jason Rivera, Kyle Schlehner, Anthony Schlehner and Lisa and Victor Murillo.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2014 at the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, 980 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson Twp. Her Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson Twp. Please gather at the church at 9:15 a.m. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Christina to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, www.afsp.org or to Where Angels Play Foundation, www.thesandygroundproject.org, and would be greatly appreciated.
