As a young kid at the time getting into a few run ins with the law. I would walk into the police station to pay my fines and she was always there with a warm and welcoming heart and kind words. She was so happy for me when I joined the service and came back to say hello. She wanted good things for everyone. March 12th 2017 is a date I'll never forget. Truly one of the most beautiful and kind souls to ever walk this earth. The whole world would be a much better place with more people in it like Ellen and it was a privilege to have known her.

I lovingly remember Ellen as the most sincere and kindest woman I ever knew!! Her courage inspired me to fight my own breast cancer battle when I was diagnosed. She gave me encouragement and was a source of strength for me always. Her family was her life and I grieve with them today and she will always be in my heart. God bless her and all those she loved!!!!

Michael, I was so sorry to hear this news. I cared for Ellen on so many different occasions. I will always treasure the late night conversations we shared about things as insignificant as our favorite pudding flavor (we bonded especially over the butterscotch, as I'm sure you remember) to topics as serious as families, jobs and friendships. Ellen never failed to have a smile on her face even in the toughest of times. There were numerous late nights that you'd be sleeping on the cot/chair (or trying to) and I'd sneak in to have our nightly talks when she couldn't sleep. I quickly learned how witty, wise and selfless she was. I will never forget the stories she told or sarcastic jokes she made. She always spoke such beautiful words to me that I will never, ever forget.... Ellen was an incredibly amazing human being and she truly will always have a special place in my heart.

I'm so sorry to hear of Ellen's passing, Mike. I always liked Ellen. She was so kind to everyone in school. I've lost my Dad, only Sister and recently, my Mom all within the last 10 years but my wife and I still have each other. I can't imagine losing a loving wife. 50 years is a long time but still too early in life to be taken from you. My heart goes out to you and your family, Mike. Al Franklin - MTHS Class of '61

My sincere condolence to the family on their loss of such a lovely Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. I met Ellen at a Bridal shower For Teresa Wells many years ago and loved her immediately. She was such a warm and lovely woman. I know how much she meant to my son in law John and his wife Erica and their children. She will be missed and remembered with love for many years by all who knew her.
