Mary Jane Cooper Bianchi, 48, of Fair Haven, passed away July 3, 2009 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born April 20, 1961, she grew up in Waldwick and Ridgewood, New Jersey. She was a 1984 graduate of New York University where she studied anthropology. Mary Jane was a historic preservation specialist in charge of the Somers Mansion in Somers Point, NJ from 1985 to 1990. A 19-year resident of Fair Haven, she was a well-known artist who showed her work at various galleries in Monmouth County. She was known for her paintings, collage, and shadow boxes. Mary was a member of the Art Alliance of Monmouth County in Red Bank and her artwork is currently on view there. She was a long-time volunteer at the Monmouth County SPCA. She loved her many cats.
Mary is survived by her husband of 19 years, Timothy Bianchi, her parents Marianne and Lawrence Cooper and a brother James Cooper, all of New York. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard Bianchi of Middletown, Hugo Bianchi and Randi Yaffee of Tinton Falls, Leonard Bianchi and Jean Howson of Atlantic Highlands, Geoffrey and Judy Bianchi of Duluth, MN, and Josiana Bianchi and Peter Blum of Red Bank; four nieces, Dena Bianchi of Ocean, Leigh Bianchi of Tinton Falls, Lucy Bianchi of Atlantic Highlands, and Violetta Blum of Red Bank, and one nephew, Alex Bianchi of Duluth, MN and many friends who will miss her deeply.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 7 from 7 - 9 PM at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ. Funeral Services are private and under the direction of John E. Day Funeral Home.
