Jessie Stamper, 72, of Howell, died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at St. Peter's Medical Center, New Brunswick. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Mrs. Stamper resided in South Amboy before moving to Howell. Mrs. Stamper was employed by Schering Pharmaceutical, Cranford for many years. She had also worked at WaWa store, Howell.
She was predeceased by her son, David, who died in 1965. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bertram Stamper; three daughters, Jessie Stamper of Phillipsburg, Caroline McEvoy and her husband Pat of Kenilworth, and Deborah Stamper-Candido and her husband Ray of Old Bridge; two sisters, Sarah Craig and Nan Craig, both of Edinburgh, Scotland; seven grandchildren, Melinda, Nicole, Rebecca, Samantha, Cory, Theresa, and Sydney; and two great-grandchildren, Deondre and Lily.
Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26 at the Whiteley Funeral Home, 241 Bordentown Ave., South Amboy. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27 at the funeral home.
