Ronald Peter Melnik, 75, of Spring Lake, NJ, with dignity and grace in the presence of his loving family, taken into the hands of our Father on Saturday Aug. 29, 2009 in his 75th year. Born June 27, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY.
A devoted husband to Peggy and a cherished and loving father to Diane, Patrick and Ronald Jr. and spouses and proud grandfather to Meredith, Natalie, Luke and Connor. A friend to all those who were fortunate to make his acquaintance, Ron had a wonderful gift to make newcomers into friends and to touch all those who shared time with him.
Ron was loyal to the schools he attended: Blair Academy, United State Military Academy at West Point and the University of Virginia. He served his country honorably as a Captain in the US Army. In 1956 he was drafted by the New York Giants but selected instead to attend the University of Virginia Graduate School of Business where upon graduation he joined the faculty. Ron enjoyed a long and accomplished career spanning 4 decades on Wall Street. He was a solid and good man who always placed family and friends before himself and who did it with a smile. Ron leaves a legacy of a full life well lived. His heart and love will be missed by all.
A memorial mass will be held in his honor on Saturday, September 12th at 11am at St. Catharine Church, 215 Essex Avenue, Spring Lake, NJ. Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Street in Manasquan, NJ in charge of arrangements.
