Carolyn Diem Hardy, 81, died peacefully on Monday, Sept. 27, 2010. Born in Jersey City in 1929, she grew up in Weehawken with her parents, her Uncle Butch and her brother, Richard. As a young adult, Carol worked in the advertising industry in NYC, where she met her husband, Thomas Kevin Hardy. They married in 1958 and had 2 daughters, Kathleen and Michele. Interaction with the students, even becoming the advisor to the Gamma Sigma Sigma Sorority in the early 1980s, was her favorite part of the job. Carol loved to travel to warm, sunny destinations and particularly enjoyed Aruba and Singer Island, FL.
She is predeceased by her ex-husband, Thomas K. Hardy; her parents, Alfred and Hedwig Diem, and by Robert Glisson, the love of her life. Surviving are her daughter, Kathleen "Katie" Spinelli, her husband Stephen, and their children, Christa, Michael, and Nick; her daughter, Michele "Mickey" Hardy, her son Devin Verry, and her "other son-in-law" John "Chip" Rogers; and also her brother, Richard Diem and his wife Shelbye.
