AGE: 85 EDISON
William Grier died on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 at his home in Edison. He was 85 years old. Mr. Grier was born in Soperton, Georgia. Once enlisted in the United States Army he was stationed at Camp Kilmer and has resided in Edison since 1947. He was employed by the United States Army and retired as a Master Sergeant. He then worked as a Security Officer for Middlesex General Hospital/Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He retired in 1992. Mr. Grier was a member of the American Legion Post 435 Father and Son in Edison. He was a founding Parishioner of St. Matthews Church in Edison. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Jane in 2005. Mr. Grier is survived by his daughters, Donna Langlois of Edison and Patricia Grier of Massachusetts. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Kurt Langlois and Erica Langlois.
Services will begin at 8:45am on Thursday at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street in Somerset. A 9:30am funeral mass will take place at St. Matthews RC Church in Edison. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery in New Brunswick. Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 7-9 on Wednesday at Gleason Funeral Home.
