AGE: 51 Barnegat

Gerard H. Nolan Jr., 51, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at his home in Barnegat. Born in Jersey City, he resided in Barnegat for the last 19 years. Gerard attended Hudson Catholic High School in Jersey City and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Finance and Management from Ashwood University. He was a Mortgage Broker and a co-founder of a Mortgage Banking Division for a National Branching Company. He also served on Advisory Boards for several institutional Conduits. Jerry was a former assistant scout master for Troop 66, a cub master for Pack 66, a manager and executive board member for Barnegat Little League, a former Township Committeeman for Barnegat Township and former Chairman of the Barnegat Economic Development Committee. He was also on the Barnegat Township Planning and Zoning Board, an Eagle Scout and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, John Wesley Taylor Post #232, Barnegat.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Darlene Garcia Nolan; four sons, Francisco and his wife Julie, Gerard F., Michael and Matthew Nolan; a granddaughter, Leanna; two sisters, Mary and Joanne Nolan; and two brothers, Robert and Frank Nolan. He was predeceased by his parents, Gerard and Joan Lynch Nolan Sr.; and a sister, Susan Nolan.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Drive, Manahawkin. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Bay Avenue, Manahawkin. The family requests memorial contributions to the G. H.
