Cyril G. Stevens

AGE: 85 • Oceanport

Cyril G. Stevens, 85, of Oceanport, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at home. He was born in Sea Bright and lived in Long Branch and Jupiter, Fla. before moving to Oceanport 24 years ago. He was a switchman for N.J. Bell Telephone for 35 years before retiring in 1981. He was a member of IBEW Local 827, East Windsor and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an aviation radioman. He received the Victory and American Theatre Medals.

He was predeceased by his wife, Audrey Wyckoff Stevens, in 1992; his daughter, Linda Ferrentino on July 15, 2011; his brother, Richard C. Stevens; and his parents, Cyril and Alice Armstrong Stevens. Surviving is his children, Susan T. Stevens of Jupiter, Fla., Sally Stevens Edwards of Melbourne, Fla., Kerri and her husband Leo Medina of West Long Branch, David H. Osborn III and his wife Maureen of Leonardo, and Richard L. Osborn and his wife Debbie of West Long Branch; brother, Howard Stevens and his wife Joan of Green Valley, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14 at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Burial will be private.
