George F. Stubbs, 95, a resident of Renaissance Gardens in Tinton Falls, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, after a short illness. He was born in NYC, graduated from Harvard University and earned his MBA from New York University. He served in the Army during WWII. George was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Marian Lindsay. They lived in Haworth, NJ for 47 years where they were active in the community and founding members of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. George's 35 year professional career was spent at the NYC offices of McGraw-Hill where he held positions in editorial and financial management before retiring in 1981.
George is survived by his beloved brother, Hal (Lu) Stubbs of Northampton, MA; three children, Barbara (Art) Jenks of Savannah, GA, Patricia (Tom) Sexton of Westerville, OH, and David (Carolyn) Stubbs of Fairfield, CT. He was a proud grandfather to 5 grandsons, 3 great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 2 in the Garden Room of Renaissance Gardens at Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls. George will be interred in the Memorial Garden at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Haworth, NJ. Condolences may also be made online at www.elyfuneralhome.com.
