Kirk Robinson

Kirk Robinson, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012. He was predeceased by his mother, Audrey Robinson; and his grandparents, Hellen and Adam (Bucky) James, who was his mentor and biggest fan. Kirk attended The Star of the Sea School where he lead his basketball team to a phenomenal record. Under the leadership of coach Father John Horan, Kirk made first team all state in basketball. Kirk went on to Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, where he helped his team capture the state championship. He later graduated from St. Gregory's College in Oklahoma. CBA coach Vince Cox said that Kirk was the finest player he had ever coached in his 30 years. He was a coach's dream, a player who could go both ways, a complete player. Kirk was the only scorer to go over 1,000 points in cult history at that time. Kirk earned All Shore, All County, and All Trenton Diocesan Honors. Kirk will be remembered for his trade mark brilliant ball handling and dribbling; plus foul shot ability where he made 85 percent of his free throws.

Kirk leaves to mourn his cousin, Diana Meade-Gibbs, who was his caretaker, Carolyn Meade-Reynolds, and Ronald and Mark Williams, Lucille Daniels-Thornton, Taliese Cooper, Patricia and Sandra Thompson and a very special friend, Barbara Greenwood-Scott.
