Glenn Adams Richards, 81, of Tinton Falls, formerly a 52 year resident of Lincroft, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born in Kearny to Helen and Alfred Richards. He graduated from Kearny High School and Rutgers University Class of 1954. Glenn was employed by Public Service Electric and Gas Company in a number of management positions for over 35 years. He was part of a team that developed the first computerized customer billing system. Glenn was a charter member of Lincroft Presbyterian Church, where he taught Sunday school. He was a member of the Board of Deacons and Clerk of Session. Glenn was a member of the Monmouth Boat Club since 1967 and held a number of offices. He volunteered at Riverview Medical Center for 20 years after his retirement.
Glenn was predeceased by his brother, Donald Richards. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Margaret; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jane and Joseph Sole of River Plaza, and Marjorie Murphy of Townsend, TN; and two grandchildren, Christopher and Amanda Sole.
A memorial service will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 at the Lincroft Presbyterian Church, Everett Road and W. Front Street, Lincroft. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Glenn's name be made to the church at P.O. Box 328, Lincroft, NJ 07738.
