Albert "Captain Al" Keubler

AGE: 69 • Forked River

Albert G. "Captain Al" Keubler, age 69, of Forked River died Monday March 4, 2013 at home. Mr. Keubler was born in Camden, New Jersey living in South Hampton before moving to Forked River 21 years ago. He worked as a technician with Lucent Technologies, Camden retiring in 2001. Captain Al was a license boat captain, a member of the Fish Hawks, Lacey Township Elks and the Old Guard of Forked River and a parishioner of the Church of Saint Pius X all of Forked River. He also was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

Surviving is his wife Beverly, his children Dennis Keubler, Christopher Keubler, William Houlihan, Joseph Houlihan, Kenneth Houlihan, Shirley Schwartz, Phyllis Schiavone and Victoria Ramirez Diaz; three brothers Herman Keubler, Thomas Keubler, Robert Keubler; three sisters Joan Douthitt, Elizabeth Mills and Diane Keubler; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday 6-9 pm at the Layton's Home For Funerals, Forked River. Relatives and friends may arrive at the funeral home Saturday at 830 am to celebrate a 930 am funeral mass at the Church of Saint Pius X. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to the Captain AL Memorial Fund would be appreciated in care of Beverly Keubler, 344-5 Route 9, PMB 230, Lanoka Harbor, NJ 08734. The fund is to create an artificial reef in the Atlantic Ocean in memory of Captain Al.
