Lawrence H. "Larry" Miller, 73, formerly of Shark River Hills, Neptune, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center from complications of Alzheimer's. He was born on January 5, 1940 in Denville to the late Edward and Mary McCarthy Miller. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam Era. Larry retired from San Alphonso Retreat house in 2005 after many years of service. He loved the Yankees, the Giants and Notre Dame Football. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and for his ability to tell a joke, for which he seemed to have an unlimited supply. He volunteered for over ten years at the Bradley Beach Bingo Hall.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Edward and sister Mary Patricia. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Linda S. Pruitt Miller, his brother and sister in law Robert C. and Rosemary Miller and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial visitation from 7 to 9 PM on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Ely Funeral Home, Neptune. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the chapel in the B.G. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Monmouth County Office on Aging c/o Project Lifesaver 21 Main and Court Center Freehold, NJ 07728.
