William Regis Cummings, 79, of Toms River, died peacefully at home on April 9, 2013, surrounded by his family. He worked as an engineer for AT&T/Lucent for 36 years. Born in Jersey City, he also lived in Manalapan and retired to Lake Ridge Community in Toms River. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Catherine L. White Cummings, and four children: William Cummings Jr. and wife, Tammy Domanico of Pompano Beach, FL; John Cummings and companion, Cira Mejia of Grand Rapids, MI; Kathleen Mary Bruno and husband, Mark Bruno of Poway, CA; and Joanne Fitzgerald and husband, Paul Fitzgerald of Fayston, VT. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Matthew Cummings, Scott Simpson, Kaitlin Fitzgerald and Theresa Cummings. William served in the US Army. He was a communicant of St. Luke's Church, Toms River and member of the Brick Elks #2151. He enjoyed fishing, sports, and his family. Visitation is Thursday, 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Oliverie Funeral Home 2925 Ridgeway Rd. Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Friday 9:15 am at St Luke's Church, Toms River with interment at Brigadier Gen. Wm. C.
