Edward Lee, 88, of Toms River, NJ passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Green Brook Manor in Green Brook, NJ. He was born on September 1, 1924 in Elizabeth, NJ and lived in Hillsborough, NJ before retiring to the Silverton section of Toms River in 1985. Edward was a veteran in World War II, serving as a Marine in the 1st Marine Division from September 1941 to September 1945. He saw action in Guadalcanal, British Solomon Islands, Cape Gloucester, New Britain. After his discharge from the Marines, Edward spent his life as a Union Plumber for Triangle Plumbing in Mountainside, NJ, Local #24.
Edward was predeceased by his brothers, John and Andrew Lee. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Doris (nee Catullo) Lee; his son, Barry Lee of Somerville, NJ; his daughter, Diane Geib, her husband, Leo and granddaughter Caroline, of Green Brook, NJ; his sisters, Jenny Green of Williamsburg, VA and Lottie Forest and her husband, Joe, of Neptune, NJ; his sister in law, Joyce Lee of Colts Neck, NJ.
Cremation was private. Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Road, Toms River, is in charge of the arrangements, www.silvertonmemorial.com.
