Marie Antoinette Scutellaro Werts
Toms River
Marie Antionette Scutellaro Werts, of Toms River. Born in Hoboken on Aug. 31, 1931, Marie Werts died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at home. A loving mother and grandmother, loyal wife and friend. Marie loved music and creating rich experiences & memories for her children despite life's challenges. She was writing the story of her life, but the vibrant tale she told was better. Her only regret, not singing professionally, was overshadowed by the joy she found in her family and friends.
Marie is survived by son, Roy S. Werts; daughter, Cynthia Greaney and son-in-law Richard Greaney; son, Michael Werts and daughter-in-law Lori Werts, as well as 4 grandchildren, Michael, Megan & Gabriella Werts & Elizabeth Flatley. Late husband Roy Forrest Werts and brother Joseph Scutllerao predisposed her as did her mother, Anna M. Scutellaro and father, Joseph F. Scutellaro. Daughters DiAnna & Linda are also deceased.
Marie's classic pointed-toe pose will live in the hearts of her friends and family forever.
Visiting to be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 19 at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd., Toms River. A funeral mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 20 at St. Justin's R.C. Church; arrive at the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Cremation is private. www.silvertonmemorial.com

Marie had a very unique take on life! Her strength through love and laughter always made my day a little lighter and my heart happier just by sharing a few moments together! God has gotten a great addition to His family! I've truly been blessed to know her since my childhood in East Rutherford and also down in Toms River! To Roy, Cindy, Michael, and the entire family, I pray peace for you all and joy in knowing your Mom is in God's warm embrace!

Cindy, you had a strong Mom, who passed that strength onto you and your family. It is hard losing your family, but rest assured, that they are looking out for you. Someday, we will all be together again. Love, Mel and Ted

I met you through one of the funniest, strongest women I know, your daughter Cindy. I know the pain she's feeling for the loss of you, but the assurement that you are with her sisters shall give her comfort. Rest in Peace and watch over her. You left on earth some great kids and a legacy you should be proud of.

Dear Mrs. Werts,
I only wish that I had more time a few weeks ago so that we could have stopped by to say hello. You will certainly be missed. Thanks for always listening to my stories when I had one to share and thanks for the good laughs. You were as funny as Lucille Ball with some of your comments. May you R.I.P. as you worked hard all of your life, for your family. May you be embraced by the rest of our angels up in Heaven. God Bless You. Love, Donna
