Lisa Ann Boris

AGE: 46 • Metuchen

Lisa Ann Szutyanyi Boris died peacefully Friday, May 24 after a nearly 8 year fight against brain cancer.

Lisa loved life and lived it to the fullest without complaints. Cancer did not change her life, as she was a role model for rising above the difficulties of her disease.

She loved to travel and did so extensively over the years with her husband, Rob and their children, creating lasting and valuable memories. A lover of food, an excellent cook, slave to fashion, and a warm and welcoming hostess, she loved spending time with her many friends. She was a member of St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen and has many lasting friendships in the church and school community. She was a loyal and valued employee of Matrix S.M.E. for more than 26 years and continued to work full-time until very recently.

Aside from her faith, the most important part of Lisa's life was her family. She and her husband celebrated seventeen years of marriage this month, and she gave him the best years of his life. She was an inspiration and a guiding light to her daughter, Caroline, 11, and son, David, 7, whom she absolutely adored.

She will be greatly missed by her husband, Robert Boris; daughter, Caroline Grace; son, David Leonard; beloved father Joseph Szutyanyi of Old Bridge; mother, Jeannie Templeton McGowan of Lakewood; brother, Joseph Szutyanyi, of Hazlet; nieces, nephews, and countless family and friends.

Celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, May 29th with a Funeral Mass at 10:15 AM at Saint Francis Cathedral in Metuchen followed by interment at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.

Visitation will be held at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home in Metuchen, Middlesex Ave (RT.27) (www.costello-runyon.com) on Tuesday from 2- 4PM and from 7- 9PM.

Memorial donations are preferred and may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Neuro-oncology Research Fund, Attention: Igor T. Gavrilovic, M.D., Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Avenue, Box 52, New York, NY 10065.
