Walter P. Rossler, 80, of Toms River, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at home surrounded by his wife and children. Walt was born in Montclair in 1933 and resided in Bloomfield and Wayne before settling in Toms River in 1977. After graduating from Bloomfield High School in 1951, Walt served in the United States Air Force, as a medical technician. He was a 1960 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford. Walt co-founded Lenwal Associates in Totowa in 1967, building custom homes in Wayne and Franklin Lakes. He was an officer in both the Rotary Club of Wayne and the Passaic County Board of Realtors. Walt worked as a property and casualty adjuster for Decker Associates and R.F. Stumpf Associates in Totowa and Manahawkin from 1977 until his retirement in 2001. After retiring, Walt donated his time to Northern Ocean Habitat for Humanity in Toms River, where he rediscovered his passion for building homes while helping those in need.
Walt was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Alice Rossler. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ann Rossler; his daughters, Paula Rossler of Hendersonville, TN, Barbara Rossler and husband Carl of Springfield, OH, and Jennifer Feinberg and husband Joshua of Lake Worth, FL; his sons, Paul Bonn and wife Shari of Springfield, OH, and Kurt Rossler and wife Jennifer of Highlands Ranch, CO; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
