Joseph Anthony "Tony" McFadden

Joseph Anthony "Tony" McFadden, 81, of Tinton Falls, formerly of Hazlet, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Tony was born on May 24, 1932 in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NY and grew up in the surrounding area of NY. In 1958, Tony and his wife, Carol, were married and moved to Queens, NY together. In 1966, they settled in Hazlet to raise their family. Just recently, they relocated to Tinton Falls. Tony was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a combat soldier in the Korean War, and also for the President's Honor Guard. He was also a retired foreman for Wal-Rich Corporation. Tony was a member of the Hazlet Senior Citizens Club and loved to bowl. He was a member of "The Clowns" bowling team at Airport Plaza in Hazlet.

He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Catherine (O'Shaughnessy) McFadden; his sister, Edith and his brother, Eugene. Tony is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 54 years (November 29, 1958), Carol (Martin) McFadden; his loving children, Michael McFadden and his wife Barbara of Wyckoff, Steven McFadden and his wife Maria of Port Monmouth, Dorothy Bao and her husband Edward of Shrewsbury, his 2 step brothers and 1 half brother, along with his cherished grandchildren, Tara McFadden, Edward Bao, Katie McFadden, Jack Bao, Steven McFadden and Thomas Bao. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 and from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Rt. 35 N, Hazlet. Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Thursday morning, Aug. 29 at Holy Family R.C. Church, Union Beach. Interment, Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.
