Donna Byrne Obituary
AGE: 73 • Toms River
Donna Lee Byrne, 73, passed away Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at Rose Garden Nursing Home of Toms River. Donna was born in Neptune and grew up in Wall where she raised her family. Donna graduated Saint Rose High School as valedictorian and went on to appear in several Broadway shows such as Guys and Dolls and Lil Abner. As she raised her family, she also graduated nursing school and received her LPN. She worked as a private duty nurse until her retirement. Donna was a loving mother, sister, and friend. She was a devout Catholic and was deeply loved and will be deeply missed by everyone.
Donna was predeceased by her husband, Francis Byrne. Donna is survived by her daughter, Donna Byrne Snead; her sons, Richard Byrne, Joseph Byrne, William Byrne and his wife Dana Byrne, John Byrne, and Sean Bryne; her brother, Joseph Cifune and his wife, Nettie Cifune; her sister, Inez Devine; her grandchildren, Richard Bryne, Brittany Byrne, Christine Snead, Devon Snead, Brianna Byrne, and Sophia Byrne; her niece, Nicole Cifune Steward and her husband, Jeremy Stewart; and her nephews, Joseph T. Cifune, Thomas Cifune, and Jack Devine.
Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013 at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35, Wall. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Belmar. Committal will follow in St. Catharine Cemetery, Wall. Our condolences to the entire Byrne family. She has begun her journey now and is happy. It is all of us left behind that are sad. We have lost a great lady and good friend. Just remember...we will see her again.
