AGE: 63 • Neptune

Carol A. Andersen, (nee Greening), 63, of Neptune, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 27, 2013 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on August 6, 1950 to the late Rita Christiano and the late Charles H. Greening, Jr. Carol was a Sr. Client Services Analyst at AIG Benefit Solutions in Neptune where she had been employed for over 25 years. Carol was an active member of Hamilton United Methodist Church in Neptune where she was a former youth group leader, member of the Staff/Parish Relations Committee, served on the Administrative Board and chaired the Kathryn Harris Scholarship Committee. She successfully completed a program to become a volunteer with the Literacy Volunteers of America and taught literacy to those desirous of becoming United States citizens. Carol was known by all to be a "prayer warrior" and often took on the problems of countless others as she was a firm believer in the power of prayer. Carol loved to read, go out to dinner, play cards and visit Lancaster PA. Most of all, she loved spending time and making memories with her beloved daughter, Tracey and son-in-law, John and her precious grandchildren, Caroline and Meghan, who were the apples of her eye. She delighted in telling stories about their scholastic accomplishments as well as their sports endeavors, dance recitals, music lessons, etc. Carol had many close friends and neighbors with whom she also spent precious time.

Carol married Edward R. Andersen, Jr. in 1970 ; he preceded her in death in 1998. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Tracey Kealey, son-in-law, John, grandchildren, Caroline and Meghan, all of Mullica Hill NJ; her stepfather, Michael Christiano, of Manchester; brother, Roger and his wife, Ann of Clovis CA; sister, Pamela and her husband, John, of Cooper City FL; stepbrother, Michael and his wife, Diane, of Brick; sister-in-law, Daisie Bradshaw, of Staten Island; nieces and nephews; her friend and companion, Tom Gelay, of Neptune, and special friends who were more like sisters.

Friends and relatives may call from 6-9 pm on Wednesday, October 2nd and 9-10 am on Thursday, October 3rd at Hamilton United Methodist Church, 858 Old Corlies Ave., Neptune NJ. Funeral service and celebration of her life will follow at 10 am on Thursday, also at the church. Burial will follow at Hamilton United Methodist Church Cemetery, Neptune.
