William F. Johnson Jr., 84, of Wall, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a decorated Korean War veteran, with a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. Bill was a Foreman for 47 years for George Mueller Construction Co. on Atlantic Avenue in Wall and eventually became a partner in Mueller & Johnson, Inc. Residing in Wall for the past 58 years, he raised 6 children with his wife of 54 years Jean.
He was predeceased by his wife Jean Carlin Johnson, who died in 2006 and his daughter, Kathleen (Micky) Green, who died in 2004. Bill is survived by his daughters and their husbands, Jackie and Mike Carpenter and Pat and Steve Ballard of Brick; and his sons, Bill Johnson, Wall, Bob Johnson, South Carolina and Tom Johnson, Howell. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his current wifem Evelyn Granit Johnson.
Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. & 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Highway 35, Wall. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7 at the Assembly of God Church, 800 Bay Ave., Toms River. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. Memorial contributions may be made in Bill's name to the Shiners Hospital For Children, 3551 North Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19133.
