Margaret A. Charney, 88, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 at her home. She was born Margaret A. Sliva on March 17, 1925 in Windber, PA, where she grew up. In 1947, she and her husband, Steve, were married and in 1977, they settled in Hazlet with their family. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. After Margaret retired, she became a member of the Hazlet Senior Club, enjoyed bowling, crafting and playing bingo and liked spending time in Atlantic City.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary (Michlo) Sliva; her beloved husband, Steve J. Charney and her 6 dear brothers and sisters. Margaret is survived by her loving children, Carol R. Rybakowski and her husband James of Hazlet, Steve Charney and his wife Linda of Brick, David Charney and his wife Rosemarie of Atlanta, GA; her cherished grandchildren, Joelle, Nicholas and Christopher Rybakowski, and Steven Charney and his wife Joann, along with her adored great grandson, Steve Charney and her special care giver, Luda. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
