Great grandmother 25 times over, Kathryn (Kremer) Morrow (a/k/a Great Nana), reached the amazing age of 99 before passing away on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013. Kathryn, a long time resident and lover of all things Manasquan was born and raised in Elizabeth. She and her late husband Tom moved their family to Manasquan in 1961 where they were the proprietors of The Jackson House Hotel on Main Street in Manasquan. Kathryn was a woman truly ahead of her time. After graduating from St. Patrick's High School in Elizabeth, she worked her way up through the ranks at several banks before joining National State Bank in Elizabeth where she served for 35 years prior to retiring as a Vice President in 1986. She was recognized over the years for her skills and advanced in the bank despite being on the road commuting for over two hours daily and being a busy mother of five. Kathryn was a member of the Rosary Altar Society of St. Denis Church in Manasquan where she was a parishioner. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elk Lodge in Manasquan and the Manasquan Woman's' Club. An avid reader, knitter and walker, Kathryn took pride in her large family and was a frequent attendee at her grandchildren and great grandchildren's sporting events, recitals and church functions.
Kathryn was predeceased by her husband, Thomas J. Morrow Sr. and her son, Thomas J. Morrow Jr. She is survived by her 4 loving children, Mrs. Mary Sheehan, Mrs. Jayne Niland, both of Brick, Roseanne Palladino and her husband Anthony of Brielle, and George Morrow and his wife Linda of Manasquan; 15 devoted grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be offered on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 9:30 am at St. Denis Church, 90 Union Avenue, Manasquan, NJ. Entombment will follow at St. Catharine's Cemetery, Wall Township. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathryn's name can be made to the Manasquan First Aid, 65 Broad Street, Manasquan, NJ 08736. Colonial Funeral Home, Brick, is in charge of arrangements.
