AGE: 66 • Brick Township

Jacob John Ewtushek, 66, who enjoyed residences in both Brick Township and Hemlock, NY, died at his home in N.Y. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014. Jacob was born and raised in in South Amboy and lived in Toms River before moving to Brick many years ago. Jacob retired from Oyster Creek First Energy Corp after 40 years of service. Jacob began his career as a lineman and progressed to a Nuclear Electrician. Along the way, he won many service awards during his career while at Oyster Creek, many for Safety. He loved his job, the company, but mostly the people he worked with. They were a close knit family who shared many fun and wonderful times together.

Jacob was a Vietnam War veteran serving as a military policeman in the Army. He was a member of St. Martha's R.C. Church in Point Pleasant and St. Matthew Church in Livonia, NY. He was a member of the IBEW Local Union in Wall Twp. He loved spending time at his log cabin in Hemlock, NY, a beautiful spot right in the center of wine country.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Ann Ewtushek. Jacob is survived by his wife, the former Debbie Musica; two sons, John of Toms River and Kenneth of Brick; 2 sisters, Mary Ann and Betty Lou, and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his dog and faithful companion, Annie who was always at his side.

Viewing hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Hwy. 88, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4 at St. Martha's Church in Pt. Pleasant. Cremation will be handled privately.
