Lesia "Lee" Chomyk Walling died on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014 at home after fighting a valiant battle with cancer with great spirituality, wisdom and grace. Her childhood was spent immersed in her Ukrainian culture while living in Irvington NJ. After high school she moved to New Brunswick to attend her beloved alma mater Douglass College for Women, followed by a Masters Program at Rutgers School of Library Science. Shortly after graduation, Lesia became a librarian at The East Brunswick Public Library, where she served for 33 years. Lesia spent those years living in East Brunswick while raising her daughter.
Surviving are her loving daughter and son-in-law, and her 3 beautiful grandchildren, and her devoted partner and family. Also surviving are her sister and family, and her ex-husband, all who loved and cared for Lee through her illness.
A Memorial Service in Lee's honor will be held in March with further information to follow. Arrangements were under the direction of the Brunswick Memorial Home, East Brunswick (www.brunswickmemorialhome.com).
