Arthur Reilley Obituary
AGE: 83 • Spotswood
Arthur E. "Art" Reilley, Sr., 83, of Spotswood died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Raritan Bay Medical Center. Born in New Brunswick to Edmond Reilley and Victoria Wieczorek, he was raised in East Brunswick before moving to Spotswood more than 60 years ago.
Surviving are his companion of more than 20 years, Ms. Chris Marchitto, and seven children: Loretta Grilley and her husband, Jack, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; Arthur E. Reilley, Jr. of Spotswood; David M. Reilley of Manalapan; Daniel P. Reilley and his wife, Deborah, of Spotswood; Kevin S. Reilley and his wife, Christine, of Spotswood; Ken D. Reilley of Spotswood; and Kimberly E. Ramos and her husband, Jason, of Jamesburg. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A veteran of the Korean War, Art served as a gunner's mate in the U.S. Navy. He spent his post-Navy career as a local entrepreneur, owning several businesses throughout his lifetime, including Art's Auto Body in Spotswood for more than 50 years. Always dedicated to his craft, he worked until his dying day.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 26 at 10am at Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Avenue, South River with burial to follow at NJ Veteran's Cemetery in Wrightstown. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Wednesday, June 25 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Letters of condolence, complete funeral details and directions may be found on maliszewskifuneralhome.com
