William D. Mooney

AGE: 70 • Brick

William D. Mooney, 70, of Brick, passed away on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born and raised in Queens, NY, he moved to Brick 40 years ago. He worked as an outside plant technician for Verizon before his retirement. He served in the United States Army Air Force during the Vietnam War. Bill was a member of the IBEW and an avid golfer.

Bill was preceded in death by his son, Jim in 2012. He is survived by his wife, Cherrie (Thompson) Mooney of Brick; his son, William D. Mooney Jr. and his wife Maureen of Brick; his brother, Jack Mooney of Florida; his sister-in-law, Lexie Thompson of Florida; and twin granddaughters, Shealyn and Michaela.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, August 26, 2014, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Herbertsville Colonial Funeral Home, 1045 Sally Ike Rd., Brick. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10 am at the funeral home followed by interment at the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
