Spyridon Marinos Obituary
AGE: 62 • Hazlet
Spyridon "Donny" Marinos, 62, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014 at Bayshore Hospital in Holmdel. He was born on January 22, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY. A graduate of Fordham University in 1974, Donny went on to a long and distinguished career with the Florsheim Shoe Company that spanned over 40 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony S. and Pauline (Moundas) Marinos. Donny is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Cheryl (Krumholz) Marinos; his loving sons, Shawn Marinos and his wife Stacy of Morris Plains, Adam Marinos and his wife Christine of Old Bridge; his dear brothers and sister, Paul Marinos and wife Lynn, James Marinos and wife Lisa, Andrea Protentis and husband Tom, along with his cherished granddaughter, Sophia Rose Marinos. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, October 3rd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9PM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3269 Hwy 35 N., Hazlet. A prayer service will be offered at the funeral home on Friday during the afternoon visitation. In respect of Donny's wishes, he will be privately cremated. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Donny to the Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated. Donations can be made online at, www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate. Dear Cheryl and family,
We were so sorry to hear about Donny. At this difficult time, may your fond memories ease the pain. I can remember many, with love and laughter around the big dining room table at YaYa's ( or at the kids table in the kitchen). Donny was always so proud of his family. His love for you and the boys was endless. I will miss his emails of family updates and photos of weddings, gatherings, even blizzards, and most recently beautiful, Sofia. Dear Cheryl and Family,
We are deeply saddened by the news of Donny's passing. Our sincerest condolences go out to all of you. Regretfully we have not been in touch for a long time. However our thoughts are always with the family. We have fond memories of the past; whether they were Sunday dinners or many holiday celebrations together. We will cherish these moments forever. He will truly be missed.
