Norman Samuelsen Obituary
AGE: 82 • Little Egg Harbor
Norman E. Samuelsen, 82 of Little Egg Harbor, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Southern Ocean Center, Manahawkin. Born in Atlantic Highlands, he lived in Middletown before retiring to Little Egg Harbor 11 years ago. Norman served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked as a commercial fisherman out of Compton Creek in Belford, as well as being a self-employed builder. He was a member of the Sons of Norway in Marlboro, and enjoyed woodworking, playing horseshoes and gardening.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Judith Samuelsen; son, John Samuelsen and wife Jeanette of Groveland, FL; daughters, Sharon Yahara of Manahawkin and Nancy Veeck and husband Alan of Virginia Beach; brother, Spencer Samuelsen of PA; sister, Christina Stanford of AR; grandchildren, Jason Mitchell, Eric Samuelsen, and Ashley and Charlie Yahara and great-grandchildren, Alexander Mitchell and Jayden Samuelsen.
Viewing hours will be held from 2 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2015 until the funeral service at 4 p.m. at Maxwell Funeral Home, 160 Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org. For driving directions or to send condolences, please go to www.maxwellfuneralhome.com.
