AGE: 72 • Flagtown

Dorothy C. Piotrowicz, 72, died Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at her home in Flagtown. Born in Bound Brook, she was the daughter of John and Ida (Olowski) Platukis. In 1970, she and her husband, Bob, settled in Flagtown and raised their family. In 1980, she began working as a school bus driver with First Student and retired in 2000. Mrs. Piotrowicz was a dedicated communicant of St. Mary of Czestochowa in Bound Brook, serving as cantor and choir director for over 40 years.

Mrs. Piotrowicz was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bob, in 2000. She is survived by her son, Christopher, and his girlfriend, Sherry Dzurko of Burlington.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 24, at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Bound Brook. Interment will be at Bound Brook Cemetery. Friends will be received at Hagan - Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook from 9:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M, Saturday.

I knew Dorothy from Smalley School,Junior High and Bound Brook High School. We had many happy memories during our school years.May she rest in peace.

Dottie will be sorely missed. She was a wonderful person with a heart of gold. I've known her for 50 years. She sang at my son's funeral 19 years ago. Always in my heart. My last name used to be Marish of the Bound Brook Marish's.
