Thinking if you five years later. All the jokes and laughs we didn’t get to share. But remembering your wit, friendship and laughs.

Remembering you Doug on the upcoming 1 year anniversary of your passing. Your ability to name all of the US presidents in order both going forward and backward always made you the hit of of any Presidents Day party.
You were a great friend to us all.
I know that you are soaring with the
Angels and enjoying Vodka tonics and
Vodka Martinis in heaven. You were one of a kind and you are missed but not forgotten. Nostrovia! Cheers!

Very saddened to hear of Doug's passing. Had the pleasure of collaborating with him on writing projects early in our careers and deeply enjoyed his humor and friendship at Seton Hall. G-d bless his funny and very literary soul.Ben SingerSeton Hall 1975

You were the best cousin ever and I was proud beyond words to be related to you. I do t know how I'll get by without speaking with you on the phone, emailing or texting you. My heart aches to realize I won't be able to see you again, so
I'll be planting those daffodils in your honor. All my love forever and ever.

Doug,
We shared Diplomas. Central School, Marlboro High, and Seton Hall. We shared a dorm room for one semester, a dugout one summer (with the Bears) and for a brief moment in the sprig of '67 we even shared the stage. I am stunned at the news of your passing. My deepest sympathies to your family and everyone who had the good fortune of your being a part of their lives.

Thanks for all the great advice and teaching me to always challenge myself. I'm going to miss the laughs and great stories. You made more of an impact than you will ever know...time to pay it forward.
God Bless...you will be missed but always remembered fondly.

I will forever be grateful to Doug for his advice and mentoring in the early days of my career, as well as the many long conversations about the Golden Age of Hollywood. His passion for books and film and life in general were always an inspiration and he will be missed by so many.

The world has lost a kind and loving man as well as the best NYC information source. Doug would walk us through any street in Manhattan and have a story about a famous person who visited, resided, wrote, had an office or something of interest. That's just a small piece of the life you shared with so many. We will miss you Dear Friend,
Kathie and Bob Mervine
