Matthew Kiernan Obituary
AGE: 75 • Menlo Park Terrace
Matthew R. Kiernan, 75, formerly of Menlo Park Terrace, passed away on November 2, 2017 at his home in Gambrills, MD.
He was born in Jersey City and had resided in Menlo Park Terrace for 48 years before moving to Gambrills 2 years ago.
Matthew is a veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was a Tower man for the Port Authority in Jersey City for 31 years, retiring in 2002.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a member of the Blauvelt Association.
Matthew was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Belsky. Surviving is his wife of 50 years, Lorraine (Wood), his son, Shawn and his wife, Jenelle of MD; his daughter, Kathleen of Edison; granddaughters: Saoirse and Maebh; his sister, Maureen Komar and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Mausoleum. Viewing will be Friday, 6-8 PM and Saturday, 9:30-10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2600 US Highway #1, North Brunswick, N. J. 08902.
