Paris Royo saved my eyesight on June 30, 2000 I was ten years old. After a long shift he performed a miracle surgery that took 6 hours!! I was in a bad car accident. And my eyes were shattered by glass and a defective airbag .I owe this man a lot !

I was very sad to hear of Dr Royo's passing when I called to make an appointment. He did my cataract surgery on both my eyes in 2006. I always looked forward to my yearly visit. He treated me with such class. He always made me feel that he cared & that I could trust him if anything else were to happen to my eyes. I will miss him. My thoughts are to his family and staff.

My husband and I were shocked yesterday to hear of Dr. Royo's passing. We send our condolences to the family and may he rest in peace. He was my husband's eye doctor for over 40 years since he was about 6. Dr. Royo was a big part of his life since he had eye problems at a young age. My husband has many wonderful memories of his visits to see Dr. Royo and was very saddened to hear of his passing. He was a great man and leaves behind a great legacy.

I was shocked to hear about Dr. Royo's passing away when I went for my eye appointment scheduled on January 31, 2013. I think we, his patients, should have received a letter informing us about his death. He had been our eye doctor for many years and we will miss him. Our condolences to his family and we hope that we will get the same service from the new doctors.

Today my heart has been broken. I knew and worked side by side with Paris for many years. I not only considered him my friend but looked up to him as a father figure. I am having a hard time coming to grips with his passing. The blessing I have is knowing I had an opportunity to see and visit with Paris back in July. He was the same old Paris great warm smile and welcomed me home like I hadn't been gone a day. It had been twenty years. To me he was invincible but the most human human being anyone was blessed to meet. Together but it was all Paris's hard work and dedication. Man did he work hard. I can't say together but I was there when he began to create his legacy. His first Surgery Center on 4th St. What an honor it was to work with and learn everything I know about Ophthalmology I learned by this man.
My heart goes out to Afie, his children, and his sister. May God bless you all. I would love to hear from you.
I will truly miss our adventures in the jungles of far away lands performing miracle after miracle. Bringing the passion of restoring sight to the world with us.
I'll never ever forget and he reminded me of the time I think it was our second trip to Panama and we're deep in the jungle doing what we did best. We had performed surgery on our native friends and I decided to explore the jungle on my own. So I hiked around eating wild mangoes and papaya not a care in the world. Proud of our accomplishments and what could be achieved with so little. Well to make a long story longer LOL. So we were leaving the next morning and as I was getting packed and looking in the mirror I couldn't see my eyes had swollen shut and I had poison ivy all over the place. I looked worse that quasi moto. Then I had to travel all the way home looking like a leaper. Of course Paris was concerned but hell we had to laugh. His words of encouragement were "guess you won't do that again"
Paris I LOVED YOU AND WILL FOREVER MISS YOU. I'LL SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE.

I have been his patient since he and Jean were at Freeport & Florin Rd. I followed him since then and to the present. I have precious memories of his kindest, fun humor and our personal conversation during my entire visit and even during surgeries that he preformed. I will miss him and he will never be forgotten.

I have known Paris as a fellow Ophthalmologist and friend for 28 yrs. He was also a neighbor for 18 yrs. I always looked to Paris as a role model and innovator. I'm glad I got the chance to tell him that several months before he left us. He was a very polished person of real class and style. Always on the leading edge and up to date on new innovations in Ophthalmology. He was an excellent surgeon and physician. He had a passion for life and a passion for the practice of Ophthalmology. He practiced his art up to the end and still wielded an exacting scapel and laser. It has been my pleasure and blessing to know him. My condolences to Afie, Koby, and the rest of the family.

I will leave it to the many thousands of people that benefited from his talents and generosity, including myself; however I will miss the fun loving pal that I knew outside the profession. We spent many hours, days and weeks on adventures in many parts of the world. He loved and enjoyed swimming, scuba diving, skiing (water and snow), dancing, theater etc. in places all over the world. Paris was the hardest working, playing and loving person I ever had the pleasure to spend time with. Missing him is not sufficient memorial, I just never thought he would not be there "tomorrow. Asa

Dr Royo will be missed. He was a kind and caring doctor. He always offered me a place in the Surgery Center if I grew tired of retirement. Always said he loved working and caring for people's vision. He took care of my son's eyes and saved his vision. Just seemed to hate the pain my son had with his eye problem and researched solutions.
He is missed and loved by so many. Hope this brings comfort to the family.
