Hahn, Linda Sue*  
Linda Sue Hahn, 67, was born in Yakima, Washington on January 12, 1948 to Clarence and Mary Hopkins. She passed away on February 24, 2015 in Marysville, California. She had been a military wife for several years which allowed her to do some traveling to such places as Guam. She was married to William John Hahn who was retired Navy and passed away November 16, 1988. She is survived by 3 sons, Michael Hahn, Roger Hahn and Richard Hahn as well as 5 grandchildren, Clarence Hahn, Jessica Hahn, Richard Hahn Jr, Matthew Mangum and William Mangum. She also has 2 great grand children, Liam Wickberg and Avriel Wickberg. She also leaves 2 brothers James and John Hopkins and their children. She had moved to the Yuba Sutter area in 1978 when her husband retired from the Navy, where she raised their 3 sons. In 1990 she moved to Marysville to be closer to her mother who passed away shortly thereafter. She worked in several different fields including 20 years in banking and about 18 years in the Security Industry. Her last job was with Elite Universal Security where she started as a dispatcher before becoming a guard to CFO and later became an owner in the company. Linda had several interests including her cats, music, Sci-fi movies such as Star Trek, crocheting as well as spending time with her grandchildren. Her services will be held at Ullrey Memorial Chapel at 817 Almond Street, Yuba City, California at 9:00 am on March 5, 2015. Send Condolences to www.appealdemocrat.com

Hauanio, Phoenix-Claudia Kalelenai'a*  
Phoenix-Claudia Kalelenai'a Hauanio, 17, of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, passed away on February 14, 2015 in Kailua-Kona. Born in Kealakekua, Hawaii on April 18, 1997, she was a student at Kealakehe High School and a member of the Kona Aquatics Swim Team, Kealakehe High School's TLC Program and NPG (Naulu Place Girls). She is survived by her parents, Kaleo and Cata Hauanio of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Chaslen (Bronson) Ganir of Pahoa, Ashely-Clyde (Ryan Jose) Hauanio of Capt. Cook, Madison-Gail Hauanio of Hayward, CA, Sira-Claire Hauanio of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Koa Hauanio and Nalu Hauanio, both of Kailua-Kona; maternal grandparents, Michael and Gail Kunsman of Yuba City, CA; paternal step-grandmother, Janice Hauanio of Redding, CA; a niece; two nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Friends may call at 3 pm February 28, 2015 at Mokuaikaua Congregational Church in Kailua-Kona for a 4 pm Celebration of Life service. The family requests casual attire worn and flowers are welcome. Hessong, William H.*  
William H. Hessong, 72, of Yuba City, CA, passed away on February 22, 2015. A Yuba-Sutter resident for 39 years born on December 10, 1942 in Los Angeles, CA. Bill was a graduate of Leuzinger High School Class of 1960 in Lawndale, CA. He worked as the Plant Manager for Diamond Steel Co., Inc. in Yuba City for the past 39 years. With his wife, Bill has been a long time member of the Ford Federation Truck Club. Member since 1978, he has held multiple leadership roles within the club. The things he enjoyed the most was spending time with his wife, family and friends, restoring 1956 F-100 trucks, tinkering in the garage, going to car shows in the local area and through the state, camping and traveling. He served in the Air Force at Beale AFB as a fireman in the Aircraft Crash Rescue Team from 1960-1964. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Grace A. Hessong; son, Greg (Tina) Hessong (45); and granddaughters, Kristina Hessong (28) and Hannah Hessong (6), all of Yuba City. Preceded in death by his father, John W. Hessong, and Lily M. Hessong (Forsythe). Services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015, at 10 am. Chapel of the Twin Cities, 715 Shasta Street, Yuba City, (530) 673-4360. Bob Ouzts, Officiant. Hill, Beamon*  
Beamon Hill was born on March 14, 1934 to Fred Canty and Mary Lou Hill. He was raised by his grandparents, Rev. O.S. and Lummie B. Hill. He graduated from William James High School in 1952 with a scholarship in Mathematics. After graduating from Clarke College, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served our country for 20 years and 6 days. He came to Beale Air Force Base in 1973. He was a member of the "Traveling 20" CBers Club. He was known as "Beam Bender" on the CB radio channel 19. He attended Yuba College where he was a full-time student, a math tutor and he graduated with a 4.3 GPA and earned his B.S. He started the Yuba-Sutter Chess Academy on 225 2nd St., Yuba City, CA. He later moved his chess club to meeting at Carl's Jr. on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm. While he tutored at Yuba College, he would have 8 to 10 chess boards set up in the dining hall. He also worked for Marysville Joint Unified School District as a math tutor in the Yuba-Sutter Mall by the food court. He was the Yuba-Sutter chess king. Nobody could beat him. He even played chess via post cards by mail with people all over the world. He was a lifetime member of the International Chess Federation. He worked at World Airways in Oakland, CA and he left there to work for Continental Airlines at LAX in LA. He was a Radio and Electronics Technician. He repaired the "black boxes" that are on airplanes. After retiring from the airlines, that freed up his time to do what he loved to do-play more chess. He would travel to Sacramento, CA, Los Angeles, CA, and Reno, Nevada to play chess tournaments and win money. In 2004 he was the Chess Club Champion for his division. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church from 1982 until his death, where he was a deacon and past president of the Usher Board. He married Joe Ann Jackson and to this union he had two sons; Beamon Anton Hill and Joseph Beamon Hill. They both preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn, Joe Ann Hill (Mama Joe), his son, John Courtney Dunnigan (wife Angelia) of Champagne, Illinois., daughter Judy Ann Jackson of Columbia, Mississippi, daughter, Virginia Farver of Mississippi (husband Albert). Beamon also leaves to mourn 23 grandchildren, 3 great grands and a host of nieces and nephews. Viewing will be Friday February 27, 2015 at 10 am - 11 am. Funeral services will be at 11 am at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 2284 McGowan Pkwy, Olivehurst, CA 95961 with Pastor Carl Dorn, Sr., officiating.
