McDaniel, Michael Ray*  
Michael Ray McDaniel, 59, of Marysville, CA. He was born on April 1, 1956 in Yuba City and was a lifelong resident of the Yuba-Sutter area. Michael was retired - formerly a Sgt. in the U.S. Marine Corps and a LVN. He is survived by Pamela Rigby (sister) of Kennewick, WA and Terry Dahlke (sister) of Richland, WA; Kathy Lea McDaniel (daughter) of Marysville and Katrina Anne McDaniel (daughter) of Las Vegas, NV; Kenneth Ray McDaniel (son) of Pismo Beach and Kipp Michael McDaniel (son) of Las Vegas, NV; Phillip Kerr (nephew); Kristen Kerr (niece); Brett Rigby (nephew); Michelle Rigby (niece) and many, many cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Raymond J. McDaniel; his mother Esther McDaniel; his step-mother Nelda McDaniel; his sister Vicki McDaniel and his brother Kenneth McDaniel. Michael was an avid musician, a woodworking enthusiast and loved the freedom of riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 11:00 am at Lakeside Colonial Chapel, 830 D St., Marysville. Send Condolences to www.appealdemocrat.com

Morgan, Clyde E. (In Memoriam)  
In Loving Memory Clyde E. Morgan Lt. Col. USAF, Retired October 2, 1929 - April 30, 2008 Clyde E. Morgan was born on a farm in northwest Arkansas on October 2, 1929. He attended a one-room school, grades 1-8, and moved to California in 1945, graduating from high school in 1946. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1950 at the start of the Korean War and was accepted in Aviation Cadets in 1952 as a navigator/bombardier, graduating as Cadet Commander and as Distinguished Cadet. He was accepted in pilot training in 1954. In 1955 he was assigned to Westover AFB, Massachusetts, to the newly activated 384th Air Refueling Squadron, where he flew KC-97s, and was assigned as 8th Air Force Command Crew Pilot in 1962. While at Westover AFB, he met and married Diane, his wife of 43 years. In 1965 he was assigned to Andersen AFB, Guam, as part of the B-52 Arc-Light program. After his tour of duty in Guam, he flew KC-135s at Travis AFB, California. In 1969 he was assigned as Senior Controller, 15th Air Force, March AFB, California, and was later assigned as Senior Controller at the United Nations Command Center in Korea. Following his assignment in Korea, he was assigned as Operations Officer for the USCINC EUR Airborne Command Post at Mildenhall AB, England. In 1977 he was assigned to Beale Air Force Base as Chief, Command/Control for the 9th and 100th Wings. He retired in 1980 after a 30-year career, accumulating some 7,000 hours of flying in numerous aircraft. Military awards include the Meritorius Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Air Medal, and the Air Force Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, among others. He returned to school in 1981, achieving the Academic Excellence Award at Yuba College and graduating Cum Laude from California State University, Chico, in 1985. He was an AARP Tax Aide in Yuba City for many years. He is greatly missed by Diane and sons James Morgan and Todd Ansty.
