Berwyn F. Jeffery, 85, of Lancaster, CA entered his Heavenly home on February 18, 2013. His daughter, Veronna, was at his side. He was born January 17, 1928 in Marysville, CA to Frank and Barbara E. Jeffrey.
Berwyn served in the United States Army
in the European Theatre of W.W.II. After completing his military service, Berwyn moved back to Marysville, CA where he met and married his wife, Bertha Olshowka Jeffery, who preceded him in death in 1996. They were married for 46 years.
In 1957, Berwyn began a long career with the United States Forest Service. He worked for the US Forest Service in Downiewille, Oak Grove Ranger Station, and Redding, CA until his retirement in 1987.
He spent his years of retirement living in Woodland and Castle Rock, WA where he made many friends. Berwyn moved to Lancaster, CA to be near his daughter and spent his final years enjoying time with his family and friends, laughing and dancing. Berwyn will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Berwyn is survived by his son, Stanley Elam, daughter-in-law, Patricia Elam and his daughter, Veronna Saubert. He is also survived by his only granddaughter, Brenda Roczey (Salbert) of Santa Clarita, his 3 grandsons: Jason Elam of Pleasanton, CA Jeffery Elam of San Lorenzo, CA and Brian Saubert of Orange County, CA. He also had seven great-grandchildren as well as many other family members and friends.
Berwyn is also survived by his sisters, Jeanne Clatworthy and Sophia Jeffrey of Yuba City, CA and Yvonne Branson of Santa Rosa, CA along with nieces and nephews from the Yuba Sutter area.
