Grace Hanson
Grace Hanson passed away at Rideout Hospital after a brief illness on Dec. 26, 2012. She would have been 92 on January 31, 2013. Born Grace Katherine Perry in Arroyo Grande, CA. Grace was a graduate of Yuba City High School. Shortly after graduation she married Leonard E. Hanson and they had a long and happy marriage of 62 years raising four children in the Arboga and Yuba City area.

Besides being a devoted stay at home Mom, Grace was most active in Marysville First Christian Church where she was a member for over 50 years. She was active in all areas of church life, serving many years as a deaconess, Sunday school teacher and member of the Christian Women's Fellowship. She also was a member of the Native Daughters.

For the past nine years she has resided at the Courtyard after the passing of her husband Leonard.

She is survived by three children: David Hanson of Yuba City, Judith Pieklo of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Margaret Hanson of Eugene, Oregon and their spouses, along with grandchildren: Greg and Sara Hanson, Andrew Hanson, Matthew Huffmaster, Mark and Michael Pieklo; and 3 great grandchildren: Amelia Huffmaster, Kai and Zoe Pieklo. She is also survived by one sister, Doris Sciallo, and one sister-in-law, Edith Valentine, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Ullrey Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Sierra View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to the Marysville First Christian Church.
