Henry Sinclair Delamere

Henry Sinclair Delamere, of Marysville, CA passed away at home, surrounded by family on February 5, 2014. Born at Rideout Memorial Hospital on January 12, 1927, he was a lifetime resident of the Yuba Sutter area.

Henry was retired but was City Historian for Marysville, for 20 + years. He wrote historical articles for many years and wrote articles for the Territorial Dispatch, a local paper. Prior to retiring, he owned and was Administrator of Marysville, Care & Rehab Center and Driftwood Convalescent Hospital for nearly 20 years. Early in his life, he managed a ranch in District 10 for his father, Dr. Granville Delamere.

Henry belonged to many organizations: Lyons Club, SIRS, Rotary, Corinthian - Hammonton Lodge, and the local Masonic Lodge of Marysville.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Elizabeth Pukallus Delamere; three children: daughters, Margaret Dant (Terry), and Karen Dawson, and son, Kerry; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Granville Delamere, one of the 4 founders of Marysville Medical Clinics, and his wife, Edna Shaner Delamere; and a sister, Evelyn Anne Nelson.

Services will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 800 D St., Marysville, CA on Sunday February 16, 2014 at 2:00PM, and will be officiated by Father Phillip Reinheiner.

Donations may be made in memory of Henry to St. John's Episcopal Church's Memorial Fund and Community Service Fund.

Services of Cremation will be handled by Lipp and Sullivan Mortuary.
