Keith Ervin Raschein


Keith Ervin Raschein passed away Friday, June 14, 2013, in Marysville, California of natural causes. He entered this life in Sauk City Hospital, Sauk City, Wisconsin on April 5, 1935. Keith's father passed away in October of 1950. In 1952 Keith moved with his mother and several siblings to Galt, CA. Keith completed high school and trained to be a baker at the Berkeley School for the Deaf. He returned to Galt to work as a baker but soon decided he liked the dairyman's life that he had been raised doing. Keith and Nyla Jean Davies were married on April 5, 1969.

Keith was active in the Lodi Bowling League with Nyla there cheering him on until they moved to Marysville, CA in 1976. Keith continued in the dairy business until one year on his birthday he came in the kitchen and said I have been milking cows for 50 years and I am done. Keith worked for Geweke Ford for 11 years before retiring for good.

Keith is survived by a loving family: wife Nyla of 44 years; daughters, Rachel Raschein and Karen Halsey; and grandchildren Cameile and Keith (KJ). Keith also leaves behind several siblings: Audrey Gore, Cleone Thompson, Randall Raschein, Muriel Thompson and Nita Young.

Keith is preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Mayme Raschein, infant brother Andrew, Ralph Raschein, Geraldine (Jeri) Huisman, Kathy Ziviello.

The funeral service for Keith will be Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 11:00am at the Praise Chapel Church, 398 Aylor Ave., Yuba City, CA.

There'll be a viewing starting at 10:00am.

Burial will be immediately following the service at the Sutter Cemetery off Butte House Road in Sutter.

Potluck immediately following the burial at Radiant Life Christian Fellowship at 1602 Sampson Street, Marysville.
