Warren T. Kanen, lovingly known as Dad, Pops, husband, grandpa and friend passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 in Marysville, CA.

Warren was born on December 23, 1925 in Grizzly Bluff, CA.

Warren practiced Dentistry, a graduate of Loma Linda School of Dentistry, he practiced in Bishop, CA, and later retired from practicing dentistry at Sonoma State Hospital. After retirement, he traveled to the Marshall Islands, providing free dental care through Canvasback Missions. He inspired several members of his family to enter the field of dentistry.

During World War II, Warren served as an Army Medic in France and Belgium. Warren was an active member of the Brownsville Seventh Day Adventist Church for 14 years.

Warren was a Dodge Bros. man, restoring antique cars.

He is survived by his loving wife Doris of 36 years; four adult children: Denise Abston, Donald Kanen, Marlene Savage, David Kanen; and four stepdaughters: Jennifer Mayfield, Debbie King, Janice Mayfield, and Druscilla Covington. Warren is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Warren is also survived by 3 brothers: Lowell, Norman & Rolland Kanen.

Warren is preceded in death by his parents George & Emma Kanen, sisters Eleanor Wing and Lucille Jorgensen.

A Memorial will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 4 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1460 Richland Rd., Yuba City. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Schools Worthy Student Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Lipp & Sullivan Funeral Home.
