Raghbir Singh Hayre

Raghbir Singh Hayre (Bhalwan) April 5, 1941- September 10, 2010 Raghbir Singh Hayre (Bhalwan) was born on April 5th 1941 to Late Ujagar Singh and Gurbachan Kaur at Littran pind, Punjab. He had three brothers and one sister. Raghbir attended school at Shankar and at a very young age was fond of Wrestling and Kabaddi. He started professional wrestling at the age of 18 and traveled through out India during his youth competing in the sport, he loved so much. In 1968 Raghbir traveled to Kenya to work under his Uncle, Bishan Singh Hayre where he also continued to play Kabaddi and traveled throughout the country. In 1975, as coach and captain of the Kenya Kabaddi team Raghbir traveled to the UK, he spent seven years in the UK before moving to the United States. He chose to settle in Yuba City with his wife, Surinder Kaur and sons, Mandeep Singh and Jagrup Singh and daughter Ranjit Kaur. Raghbir who spend 29 years in Yuba City was known as a very hard worker and a family man who strived to provide for his family. To this day we are all indebted to him and appreciate the hard work and the great sacrifice he undertook during his lifetime for his family and loved ones. Funeral Services will be held at the Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond Street, Yuba City, CA on Sunday, September 19th at 11:00 AM followed by Final Prayers and Cremation at Ullrey Memorial Chapel Crematory.
